What is the Alexander technique?
The Alexander technique is a simple and practical method for improving the use of the body
The technique can help:
To alleviate chronic pains, stiffness in the back, neck and knees; to accelerate the recovery after accidents and operations; to help and alleviate the symptoms of scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, unequal leg length; prevention of injuries due to wrong use of the body while playing a musical instrument, singing or acting, in sports, dancing, riding and more. The technique is especially suitable for working with musicians, actors and athletes.
The Jerusalem School for Alexander Technique was founded by Shmuel Nelken, who was its managing director since its inception in 1974. Shmuel passed away on 2 January 2015. The school continues to operate with the same staff under the direction of Gal Ben-Or.
