What is the Alexander technique?

The Alexander technique is a simple and practical method for improving the use of the body

The technique can help:

To alleviate chronic pains, stiffness in the back, neck and knees; to accelerate the recovery after accidents and operations; to help and alleviate the symptoms of scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, unequal leg length; prevention of injuries due to wrong use of the body while playing a musical instrument, singing or acting, in sports, dancing, riding and more. The technique is especially suitable for working with musicians, actors and athletes.

Shmuel Nelken practices the Alexander Technique since the 1950's.  His touch is unique as the generations of his students will attest. He studied with F.M. Alexander in London and was the first student to be certified by Patrick McDonald shortly after Alexander's death in 1955. He continues to develop his own style of work to these days while being completely faithful to Alexander's original work.

Shmuel is the managing director of the Jerusalem School for Alexander Technique Since its inception in 1974
